Llama: Llamas are awesome! (8)
I know it's been quite some time since I last posted anything art wise or journal wise but I've been pretty busy with re-enactment stuff, speaking of which I'm nearly half way through the mail shirt so i might actually have something to post on that in a little while.although I will have to find the cable for my camera first as i can't post anything without it and have a couple of things that I want to put up here *sigh*. As for the Lorica my self and nihtgenga have made a fair amount of progress on that, we've got the card mock-up made and tested, it did fit thank god, or I would have spent hours trying to resize it on the computer before w

I've decidedto take a break from my mail shirt as it's driving me bonkers (I'm abut a third of the way through though :D )so instead me and a friend have started work on making a suit of Roman Lorica Segmentata. chain mail

I've got a peice of chainmail about a foot square and my hands are covered in blisters form the pliers and the snips i use for cutting the rings out... yeah i'm making my own rings, i'm buying the wire, winding it into coils and cutting it out. The downside is it takes me half as long again to make the mail, the upside is i get about 500 to 700 links out of one roll and one roll costs about &#163

hi, thanks for the fav on the tabard :)
I wouldst like to thanketh thee for ye olde Favourite with which thou hast foisted upon my most unworthy self.

Keep up your glorious work.... metalworking is an archetype art, but combined with historical remembrance, it is something akin to a higher calling.
Thanks for the watch
